Its twin 7 inch woofers and 40 Hz port tuning give bass that is full and dry rather than thunderous, so a smaller room stays clean. It asks for 40 to 150 W into a 6 ohm load, so pair it with an amplifier that has current in reserve. The cabinet is plain and the edges are unrounded, so take it as a piece of audio gear rather than furniture.

Go for the Klipsch RP-280F if the room is large, the system doubles as a home cinema, or you want the low end felt as much as heard. It has the harder hitting bass of the two, and its 32 Hz reach with 98 dB sensitivity means it plays loud and deep on modest power, which suits films and rock at volume. It is also the better looking speaker by a clear margin, which matters in a living room where the towers are on show. Be honest about the space first: at 1095 mm and 62.5 lb it needs room to breathe, and in my experience a carpeted floor flatters it more than bare boards.
